Forgiving Others

Releasing the debt you cannot collect

Scripture Anchor
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Matthew 6:14-15
Written Meaning

Unforgiveness is the only sin Jesus tied directly to our own forgiveness. To forgive is not to pretend the wound never happened — it is to release the debt so it stops collecting interest in your soul.

A Prayer to Pray

“Father, You forgave me when I deserved nothing. Help me extend what I have received. I release [name] from the debt I have been holding. Heal the wound underneath.”

One Practice

Write the name. Write the offence. Pray aloud: 'In Jesus' name, I forgive [name] for [specific action]. I release them. I bless them. I trust You with justice.' Do this until your chest unclenches.

Reflection

Whose name comes up when you pray about forgiveness — and what would it cost to release them?

Scripture multiplies when it is passed person to person. If someone you love needs these words today, send it.

When to Seek More Help

If the offence involves abuse or trauma, forgiveness does NOT mean re-entry or contact. Please work this through with a trauma-informed Christian counsellor.
