See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.
Bitterness is unforgiveness that has grown roots. It does not stay in one corner of the soul — it defiles many. You can love Jesus and still have a bitter root quietly poisoning your relationships, prayer life, and joy.
“Father, expose every root of bitterness in me — toward the person who hurt me, toward those who failed to protect me, toward myself, even toward You. I bring each one into the light. By the cross of Christ, pull these roots out fully.”
Sit quietly. Ask the Holy Spirit: 'Where is bitterness hidden in me?' Write the names that come up. Pray over each: 'I release the debt. I bless this person. Heal what they could not.' Repeat for as many days as it takes for your chest to soften.
